About Me
I began this amazing journey of serving mothers and their families when I was pregnant with my son in 2005.
The information I uncovered in my own quest to have the best birth possible opened my eyes to the state of birth in our country, and I continue to stress education and empowerment when I work with mothers and their partners.
I have now been a birth doula for three years and am certified with DONA (Doulas of North America).
Though I do bring a "bag of tricks" with me to births, I find that the tools I use most often are my hands and my voice. Women and theri partners really need encouragement and a reassurance of normalcy during the path of labor, and sometimes reminders that their bodies know what they are doing, and will birth their babies.
I always trust that we find the right people to work with, so I know that I have been called to serve each particular mother for a reason; usually we both have something to learn from each other! I truly love the work I do, and consider it an honor to attend a birth.
